IDEA: Every day life, especially in the United States, seems to be getting busier and busier. Almost needlessly so. But, with everyone on the go, consumers have had to give up their preferred sources of media. According to Riverside, people are moving towards podcasts with 34% of Americans listening to 8 episodes per week. It makes perfect sense why podcasts are becoming more popular since they can be consumed while walking or driving and allow users to stay aware of their surroundings. People simply do not have time to read long articles or watch 10-minute long videos. But what if consumers did not have to give up articles and videos, but got to take in the information in a way that was better for their lifestyle?
PRODUCT: Create a platform allowing users to insert a URL or file containing video or text. Take the media from the source and convert it to an audio file. Either rip the audio from video files or turn text into speech. Allow users to save files as podcasts and create an in-app media player for users to consume their audio creations on demand.
MVP: Platform converting text to speech and saving as podcast files. Media player within app.
REVENUE MODEL: Freemium, free for first few conversions and subscription for all features and format type conversions.
EXIT STRATEGY: Sell to a major podcast hosting company like Spotify for 3-5x revenue.

Summary: Investor Michael Burry, famed for his call on the housing market in 2008, disclosed that his hedge-fund Scion Asset Management has taken large bearish positions against tech companies Palantir Technologies and Nvidia Corporation, signaling a bet on a decline in their share prices. The move comes amid Burry’s warning that the current artificial-intelligence (AI) sector may be overheating and forming a bubble.
Spin: Just to be clear, I don’t think Michael Burry is saying that Palantir and Nvidia are failing or going under any time soon. He is simply implying that these companies are highly overvalued. I don’t know if he is right or wrong, but there is no doubt in my mind that we are in an AI bubble. No telling how long it will be until the burst happens or what the fallout will be, but expect some head-scratching valuations in the near future.
Publication: Wired
Summary: The article/podcast frames the “AI bubble” concern around a disconnect between investment and adoption. Companies are pouring billions into GPUs, data centers, and AI infrastructure, but the actual consumer demand for AI products is still limited. Most people aren’t using AI every day in ways that justify the massive spending. That mismatch looks similar to past tech bubbles: huge capital inflows based on promise rather than proven revenue. They don’t claim the bubble has already burst but highlight that the current trajectory could signal a correction if adoption doesn’t catch up.
Spin: So… yes. Chris Sacca on Gimlet’s Startup podcast says bubbles happen when there are lots of money hungry investors who have never experienced major hardship like a bubble bursting. Finally, enough time has passed since the dotcom burst that not many current investors know what it is like to lose a lot of money all at once. Don’t get me wrong, AI is amazing and will become part of our everyday life like the internet, but these valuations are getting out of control. They do not meet customer demand or interest for the most part.

The only book you will need to get your company off the ground is Peter Thiel’s Zero to One. The central theme of the book is Thiel’s argument that true innovation does not come in making something huge, or 1 to n as he calls it. It comes in getting a new idea off the ground and bringing it into existence in the first place. This is the 0, nothing, to 1, something. The immense positivity he brings to startups and the future will make you want to start something this instant.

Texting Etiquette and Education for Boomers
IDEA: We have all been there. You text your parents or grandparents something important and all you get back is a simple “K”. Or the family group message is completely overrun by that one family member who believes they are the main character of the text thread. Or the one person who feels the need to react or emote to every message that comes through. Enough is enough.
We need a Progressive Insurance “Don’t become your parents” style seminar or learning app to help liberate us from these energy vampires.
